Board-Certified American Board of Allergy and Immunology
Dr. Maureen McGeehan earned a Bachelors degree with Honors in Plan II from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992 after graduating from Lake Highlands High School in 1988. Next, she earned her M.D. at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1997.
From there she traveled to the University of Wisconsin in Madison to complete a three year residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a year as Chief Resident, before beginning a two year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology, making a total of six very cold winters. While in Madison she engaged in bench research, presented several abstracts at national allergy meetings, and authored several articles. Upon completion of her training in 2003, she accepted a position in private practice in Richardson, and started an independent practice in 2010.
In July 2025 she closed her independent practice and began working with Asthma and Allergy Associates of Allen. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her husband of over 30 years, her adult daughters, and also traveling, knitting, cooking, reading, mahjong, and opera.
